class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT COMPONENTS<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-container-core-column-is-layout-0c22cdd7 wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:60%\">\n<p class=\"has-heading-font-family has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.2\">The raw water conveyance infrastructure components of the project include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-3afcaa04 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-container-content-9cfa9a5a wp-block-paragraph\">32 km long at 3.5 m diameter transfer tunnel from the proposed Smithfield Dam reservoir to the uMlaza River valley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">5 km long at 2.6 m diameter raw water pipeline from the outlet portal of the transfer tunnel above to the proposed Umgeni Water\u2019s Water Treatment Works in the uMlaza River valley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Potential hydropower plant<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access roads, maintenance\/service roads and security fences \u2013 permanent and temporary<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Borrow pits, quarries and waste (spoil) disposal sites<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Acquisition of land and rights to land<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rehabilitation, biodiversity offsets and compensation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-cover alignfull class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">ENVIRONMENTAL AUTHORISATION<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-heading-font-family has-x-large-font-size wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-style:normal;font-weight:400;line-height:1.2\">The Environmental Authorization (EA) process for the uMWP-1 has been completed by Nemai Consulting.
